Character completely reset

There appears to be a bug where if you select play game before you're logged into Xbox Live, it will reset the character and save it when you become logged in (at least those are the things I did when my character got reset)

i find the best game developer company has to be Blizzard, i mean they take so long for their games to come out and they are very good and people play them for years.

i wonder with the coming next generation of game consoles if they will develop for them like they did in the past.

I don't think there is anything that can be done, but I want to know if anyone else has had this problem. I am a 26 gunzerker and last night I was wrapping up the Pirate DLC. I struggled beating the Leviathan solo so I called it a night. A few minutes
ago I turned on the game to give it another try and my Gunzerker had completely disappeared. The file completely gone and erased. I checked my storage and it was gone. Someone couldn't have gone in and erased it because there was no one at my place who
had the opportunity or ability. It had to be some massive glitch but I have never heard of something like that. I made sure to not shut down when the game was saving, I know that can mess things up. Has anyone else had a problem with that. 30 hours of
gameplay down the drain. I apologize for going negative on borderlands here but after this mess I will sell my game this weekend and will NEVER buy another game made by the company. Until today they were some of my favorite games for this console.

 

I've had mine reset twice today alone, both times after playing a bonus level and watching the advertisement video. Once it locked up immediately after exiting the bonus level, the other time the video didn't even play and it froze there, Both times I had
to restart the game and all progress, money, upgrades were gone.

 

This is very odd. Do you remember if there was anything else going on at the time?

 

No, both times it had to do with using the bonus level/watching the video. I finally got through the whole game, but had to avoid using the bonus rooms for fear of further resets. From what I've heard from others, the resets are somewhat common (although
not everyone), and usually relate to the bonus rooms.

 

I've been playing this game for a month or so and I have had it completely reset numerous times. I have not made it past level 48 as the game usually crashes and resets between levels 30 and 45.

I seem to notice video issues so I try to exit out and restart my Surface RT completely after every 5 levels. However this hasn't seem to make much of a difference. I do have the same issue of freezing after the bonus level, but as this does not reset the
game back to Level 1, I'm OK with restarting that level.

However, resetting to Level 1 when I'm at Level 31 is incredible annoying. The only pattern I can see is that I'm past Level 25. The screen just turns blue and then exits to the Windows 8 home screen. If I try to restart the game right away it freezes on
the splash screen. I usually have to restart the machine and then restart the game where I find I'm back at Level 1. I never start the game until I'm fully signed in to Xbox Live. Maybe I'll try skipping all the bonus rooms.

Sometimes when I'm playing I get video driver issues so I exit out and restart the Surface, then it seems fine.

I'm playing on a Surface RT running 8.1

 

The exact same things described above have happened to me also. When I finally got to level 47 with only minor crashes, I thought that meant that the problems had been fixed. Unfortunately the game then froze and set me back to level 1 Again! This is a
Microsoft game and I'm using a Microsoft Surface, so I would think Microsoft could get this right.

 

This happens to me also. Often after exiting the bonus rooms (though has happened at other times) game will reset level, bounce me back to last shop, or freeze and reset game all together. As I live rural I believe this is related dodgy internet. I'd prefer
hardware saving vs the cloud.

 

It's not your dodgy internet, it's the game. I stopped going into bonus rooms to see if that would make a difference and I actually got to level 60 before it reset. This last time I only got to level 45 and then it reset again - back to level 1.

It would be nice if this could get fixed, but I'm guessing it's a pretty low priority.

 

My game resets and once i reach the capability to hold 20 of any one item it takes me back to only holding 2 of each item.. i have to build up my coins again to get the goodies again.

 

I lost all of my hearts which took me back to the previous shop and then bought the 20 dynamite item and when I cleared the next level the game froze and it reset all of my items back to 2 even though I have the achievements for each of the items. Please
fix my items back to where they were because I am not doing all of that again. So mad.

 

My wife and myself have played the game on and off for some time. We use different machines but there are two problems common to us which are definitely program bugs that have to be fixed.

Number 1.

The game freezes after leaving the bonus room and that screen has to be repeated ( on very rare occasions twice) This is not a big deal if you have 30 of all your tools (pick axes, dynamite and maps) and can actually be of benefit as you start that screen
with a four leaf clover. It is a big problem if you are at the lower levels with few tools.

Number 2.

This is the biggie. Has happened to me once and twice to my wife.

The game completely resets you to level one and you lose all your hard earned tools.

This is a MUST FIX but at the very least there should be a way to recover the game with all earned tools from the cloud.

Helen Casper, please talk to the programmers and have them fix this.

If they cant do this, they should hang their heads in shame and MS should stop funding their studio.

TLDR: Free up hard drive space.

I had the problem where at about Level 40 to 50, the game would crash and completely and reset to Level 1. I would have to start all over again. This happened consistently and I don't think I ever got past level 58.

At some point I noticed that the my hard drive was pretty full (on the screen showing how full the disk is, the bar was red). I deleted some content to get it back to green and since then the game has not reset. I am now at about level 90. I am playing on
a Surface RT running 8.1.

For the early levels I had avoided going into any bonus rooms, but then would run out of gold. Since Level 50 or so I've started going back in and have not had the freezing problem yet.

The game has crashed completely three times during my current run, but each time it started back at the level I was when it crashed and I got all my items back that I had spent on the level prior to the crash. So it appears that it might have been a resource
issue.

Maybe this will help someone.
