Changing Xbox Name (not gamertag, and not Microsoft name)

So here's the deal; me and my brother share a Microsoft account. I use it for the xbox, and he uses it for his computer. The problem is that, when I sign into Xbox, and he signs into his pc, we see the same name. I want to change it so that we both see
different names when we sign in, for example: I sign into my Xbox One and it says "Welcome, 1" and he signs into his Laptop it says "Welcome, 2". Thank you in advance for anyone willing to help me.

I have been looking at this as for some reason, my GamerTag is my real name

It would appear that the only place you can change your GamerTag is on the XBOX itself however there is the small matter that Microsoft also want the best part of £7 for the privilege!!!

Microsoft is changing your name? Gamertag? Could be a forced gamertag change, in which case that name is against code of conduct, and you cannot use that name

 

You would need a separate Microsoft account in order to see two different names. The name that is shown is the name associated with that account. You would not be able to add a second name to that.

 

One of the reasons this is not possible is that, you shouldn't be sharing an account with anyone, at all.

Each person should have their own account, and Microsoft will push for that to happen.

You need your own account.
