Changing Xbox Live Regions... how will it affect my games?

I have an Xbox 360, which was purchased in Australia. My Xbox Live Account was started from, and is based in Australia. Half my games are disk based, and the other half are Digital.



However, I split my time between Australia, and the USA (I am a US Resident). Soon, I may move there. When I do, I’d like to change my Region to the USA to get American pricing, and also, the full uncensored version of games.



If I take my Xbox with me:

1. Will I be able to install new “American games” on my “Australian” console?

2. Will my Australian games (Both digital, and disk based) still work on my Australian Xbox 360, once I change my XBL Region to the USA?

3. Will I ever be able to play American Disk based games in my Australian 360?



If I buy a 2nd (American) Xbox 360 and change my Region to the USA:

1. Is there any way to download already purchased games (Using my Australian XBL account) to it?

2. Will the Xbox in Australia lose any functionality or ability to play games? (Conversely, will it gain any new functionality, such as access to the Netflix app?)

3. If I have previously bought a game that was censored in Australia (For example, the upcoming “Stick of Truth”, when I re-download it in America, will it be the censored version, or the uncensored version?

4. Will I be able to download “American” games when I am in Australia? And "Australian" Games, when I am in America? Does the console/Xbox Marketplace know where I am at that moment?



Finally, I want an Xbox One.

1. 1. Does any of this apply? I heard it was region free, so does that mean I can play any disk in any console, and it doesn’t matter where my Xbox Live account is set up?

Changing regions to download early?

Would this be a good idea? Will changing regions on our xbox or xbox live account enable us to download Titanfall and other titles earlier than 3am EST here in North America?

Also, if it would work, how will it affect our other things on our live account?

If anyone has answers, please advise. Thanks

 

Trouble getting content

Changing the language or locale doesn't affect the region of the accoujt

If you however do so on the console without region migration it does affect your account if you put payment options not matching your account regiom

Xbox 360 is region specific

Unlike xbox one

 

1 I suggest you maintain 2 accounts if that's the case

1st region locks apply to most triple a titles

so you can only download where you purchase the said content

2 kinda region specific games will still work in us however downloading may cause problems migration doesn't fix that it only helps with new purchases hence why you are better off having two accounts or only making purchases from one account and wait till
you are back in region to redownload

yes if they are region free play-asia.com has a good listings of region free disks

2.1 it depends if it is region locked its a case by case basis if it is a triple a title most likely it will be

2.2 as stated before you only lose access to region specific stuff

but with migration you maybe better off with 2 separate accounts and 2 regions

migration tool isn't meant for moving back and forth frequently

its more for perm moves

2.3 it will remain the same version migration will not change the version you get

however you may not be able to redownload it while out of region

migration doesn't allow redownloading of region locked content

that is controlled by international laws

2.4 you can download Australian non region locked games from an Australian account yes this is case by case you will run into issues

however it will be better to maintain 2 separate accounts in this instance so you don't lose access to previous content

yes the marketplace will know where you are however it depends if the content is region locked if it is wherever you purchased it must match the physical region

the diskbased games are region free however the dlc isn't

im not sure about voltage but last I checked you just need a different power brick
