Changing Xbox account to another email

Hi there,

i want to change my current email from the old hotmail to a new outlook email. however, my xbox account is currently tied to my older hotmail account. is it possible to swap it to my new outlook account?

• will i still be able to access all features that i have previously downloaded? (DLC, avatar items etc)
  
• or is the stuff i have purchased only available on my old hotmail account? meaning will i have to buy all my stuff again from scratch?
  
• also, if i buy a new xbox, and after putting on my gamertag, will i be able to redownload all previously purchased content from this gamertag? or because its a new xbox, i'll have to buy it all again?

How to Change your Xbox LIVE account information

Overview

It is possible to change information associated with your Xbox LIVE account like your name, address, phone number or email address.

Note: You cannot change the country that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account. If you have moved to another country and you would like to access Xbox LIVE from there, you have to create a new Xbox LIVE account in your new location.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account and Sign In with your Microsoft Account. (This is the email and password that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account).

2) Make the changes you want to your billings account information and then click Save.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on your console.

1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

2) Proceed to Settings, and then select Account.

3) Select Your Information, and then go to Billing Information.

4) Sign In with your Microsoft account password.

5) Change your billing account information and then click Done.

In case you want to change the billing name on your Xbox LIVE account, go to Xbox.com

 

Changing Xbox Live Account to another email?

So the Windows Live ID that you use for the gamertag you normally play with has been blocked? If that is the case, You will want to walk through the steps shown on the link Vixxiie gave. Unfortunately, Xbox support and Windows Live support are two separate
division, so unblocking it can only be done on the Windows Live end. Also, moving the profile over with a memory unit will still prompt you for the WLID and pw if the console you're moving the profile too has not yet been established as a trusted console.
Best thing to do is get it unblocked with Windows Live, then try moving it if need be. Good luck to you

 

As long as you know the password to the Microsoft account currently attached to your gamer tag you will have no issue's and all you content will be transferred to the new Microsoft account. Here is a link to show you how to do it.

gl trying to get help on this forum or off customer support because you wont...I made a thread yesterday about this exact same issue,its on the 2nd page of this forum under (cannot change ms account). Have a look at the *** im going through for the last
5 months,nothing has changed either,im stuck with this problem

 

to change your microsoft account you need to know your account password then go to setings>account>account security and change microsoft account. This will not work if you have outdated security info or if you have made any changes to your account info in
the last 30 days. also if you're moving to a g-mail or another accout that is not hotmail live or outlook the e-mail has to be registered at login.live.com click on sign up and register the e-mail address as a microsoft account. If you need to register your
e-mail address do not make the mistake of going to xbox .com this will automatically assign a gamertag to your e-mail address. the new e-mail address cannot have a gamertag on it. if it has you need to transfer that gt onto another e-mail address and wait
30 days for that e-mail address to become free.
