Changing Xbox account from parent email to child

When the Xbox asks for the email address connected to the child account put in the parents email address/password instead and it will work (parents email address being the one used to verify the child's account when it was first created or to accept changes
to the child account), I think this only happens when the parent email address is not the same as the primary account holders email address. I have just had this problem tonight. Xbox support told me of this and it worked first time

I am positive that I changed the parental account email. I can sign in with the child account pw and email. then I can sign in with the parental account with the other email and the password I changed it to.

remove the parental email from your child account only if it is 18 and over

If not you will be asked for another email and no your cannot change the age

If the parents account is deactivated u can call xbox support to get the parent account change with a different parent email or if he stills has access the email he can still the change the password and once u gain access to the account u change the email
email to a more update one. If u are already the age of 18yrs old then you should promote your account to an adult account then having it as a child account.
