    Changing xbox account emails without resetting progress for games


    I know that upon creating an xbox account that you tie it to an email. The problem with this is that, at least for children growing up, those xbox accounts use their parents' emails to make sure that the parents have some control over them.

    The problem is when those people now want to leave the house with their xbox and account or the email that was used for it cannot be accessed anymore for a variety of reasons. When this happens, there is no way for these people to gain full control over their xbox account.

    Sure you can make a Microsoft alias with the existing attached Microsoft account, but that still means that they have to rely on that predesignated email to a degree.

    Maybe there is something that I am missing, but I am currently in a position where I want to have control over my own account but cannot because there is no process for it.

    I would like to ask either the Xbox team or Microsoft to implement a system where you can simply change the email for an xbox account, whether it be with parental locks, a pay wall, or any other way. Just a way to change the email on an account.

    You can change the primary email address of your account without losing any of your xbox progress.

    Move Progress in Games to different Account

    As others said, there's no way to move game progress between accounts. You can change your email, change the xbox profile (gamertag) name, but not actually transfer that info to a whole separate account.

    There is not any way to move his profile (game progress, purchases, gamertag) or anything like that from your account to his account.

    The only thing that can be done is what was said in the previous post.

    If the email address that you are trying to use is already a MS account and it is a MS server email (@outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @msn.com, @live.com) then you would not be able to change it at all without losing access to that email.

    You can change the current account's email to his, he will keep all the progress on the current account. Then you can create your own Xbox account with your email but keep in mind all the progress will still be attached to the first account, so you will

    You can still share all the games without the need to purchase them again, by setting up your console (if you have two) as your son's home console using his account. Or if you are using the same console, he can still set it as home for everyone to log in
