    I got an account not too long ago, and came with the name "RadioactiveBook" but when I want to name it something else it wants to charge me $9.99, when it says my first gamertag name change is free. Help?

    Well since you already have a custom name you dont qualify for a free name change

    Onlynwhen you have a randomly generated name do you get a free name change

    I decided to pay for it, but I haven't changed it before, I've had this account since late March 2015, but again, haven't changed it since I received it, the day it was made.

    It doesnt matter you had a custom.name already

    The free change is only for new accounts that got randomized name not of your own choosing

    You must pay the 10 dollars. Sadly there is not a way around that.

    A user name will not prevent you from playing games however.

    If your gamertag is not allowed on xbox live then it's not allowed on the forums either.You might want to change your forum name before you get a strike on that as well
