Changing to parent account

If aa child account is related to a parental account only the parental account can make the changes.

It says i need a parent account to change my child account to a parent account but i dont have a parent account and it wont let me add one.

Have you tried changing his email address on the console??? TO do this log into his account and connect to XBL. Then go to setting manage my account. There's a option in there to change the email address it's associated with. As it's achild account it'll
ask for your (the parents) email and password (although the parental email should prefill with the address supplied at the time of creation). Once that's done it's should be able to be linked to the new email account.

I need to change the parental control email as stated above but without changing my sons address. How do I do that?

Hey there Apollo! This process is actually relatively simple. Your dad needs to log into his account, then navigate to the Settings Hub and select Family. He should see your account there. He should select it and then choose the option to "Remove from family".
The next time you log in, it should prompt you to add a new Parent Account, at which time your mom can use her login information. Let us know if you or your parents have any issues with this process. Thanks!
