Changing Time Zone for preorder?

Could you theoretically change your xbox's time zone/region to get a digitally pre-ordered game early?

You should be fine with this.People do it all the time.It's when you use external devices to earn achievements that you get a gamerscore reset.

Why do you want to change the time on your console?

Only reason I can think is that you want an achievement that is time based, possibly one for playing a game for six months or something.

 

You could, theoretically, act like an adult and not judge people like that.

I am actually wondering if I can play it early as I am working almost all day everyday for the rest of the week.

 

You could but I think they have started to crack down on people doing that. It is the same thing that people were doing a while back by changing the country of origin for their marketplace to get games through X1 cheaper. MS put a stop to it.

 

Good question. You may be able to. But I may be wrong, but I think with digital pre-orders they come out at the same time. It doesn't matter what time zone you are in. Microsoft may put them out a 12AM EST while it's 1AM somewhere else. Or maybe they wait
til 3AM where most other time zones are nearing midnight. I don't know.

And you never know, maybe Microsoft has a rule against this and will ban your account for doing so. LOL.

 

No you cant do this. Watch Dogs released in the UK at midnight and no US gamers were able to access the UK store to begin downloading. More recent example would be Destiny.
