Greetings, Ladies and Gentlemen -

I've successfully (or so I think) mounted a 256gb micro sd card on my ASUS Zenbook Ryzen 5500U 2.1ghz with geforce graphics. I mounted the micro sd card as D: drive as a healthy NTFS partition. The Xbox app wont, however, allow me to install games to it, as the C: drive is all but 10gb full (its a 256gb NVE drive).

I'm obviously doing something wrong. Should I have formatted the sd card to exfat? When I did this with my surface, it wasn't an issue, but in that scenario the card was mounted to the C: drive.

May I know if you already change or add your SD card as "where new content is being installed" via settings?

Also, just to test, are you able to connect an external HDD formatted as NTFS to see if you're able to install games there?

make sure its defo ntfs, then go settings, system, storage, choose where to save games and apps and select the new drive, sd cards are not always usable, it all depends on the card speed class.

i got it to work by opening the game using this filepath

C:\XboxGames\Deep Rock Galactic\Content\FSD\Binaries\WinGDK

I uninstall and reinstall 3-4 times the xbox game pass and its does not work more it installs itself on the isque C I am able to install and play games on the C but as soon as I install the games on the D its function not the games installs but do not want this launch jai the error code 0x80073d0d a month ago I had no problem on the xbox game application pass he sees my disk D when I select it it changes alone to C when I reinstall xbox I am able to change on the D but immediately I close it once it changes alone on the and could not go on the D

Unfortunately, there is no way to select the path where the files will be saved, as they are encrypted files that are saved in the same place, unlike steam and other launchers that have their subfolders with the names of games and executables.

The only thing you can do is select which external or internal hard drive the games will be installed on, to do this follow the instructions below.

Open Xbox Game Pass PC app.

Click on your profile icon on the top right of the corner.

Go to Settings.

Click on General from the left menu.

Under the drive selection tab, hit “Change where this app installs games by default“.

Choose the drive you want your games to be installed in.

Where does Xbox Game Pass install games?

The default install directory for the games is the WindowsApps folder. Alongside many other Windows 10 applications, the games you download from Game Pass are also stored in this file. You must have administrator permissions if you want to gain access to it though.

In fact, even you manage to open the folder you will not be able to run or locate the game files in it. They are encrypted by Windows during installation and they can only be run from the Game Pass app. So running the game from .exe is not possible when it comes to the desktop application.
