Changing the email for a existing Xbox profile

So with this account that is posting this forum it has a different xbox profile than the one I use on the xbox. The reason being is that my xbox account is being signed in with a email account that I no longer use. I tried to add a alias but I can not add
a Live or Hotmail account as a alias is there anyway I can transfer my old xbox account to this email?

You should remove your profile from your One before changing the email address as you need to log in with the new emailadress after changing it. And you cannot change the emailadress on an profile already existing on the One. It has to be added with the
new address again.

New Profile w/ Old Account

My Xbox 360 profile was deleted off the hard drive, so I made a new profile. How do I link this to my existing Xbox Live account. When I enter my email and password, it tells me that this account is already linked to an existing profile...but that profile
was deleted off the hard drive.

Unfortunately, you would not be able to change the alias to that of another Microsoft account.

If you change gamertag then no they won't be deleted and will stay with your account.

For email, as long as you go through the process of first adding new email as an alias to your existing account and then making it primary, all should be good. You can change email using the steps mentioned here:

Do not create new account, rather change email of your existing account as per above link.

You could free up the email you used by going to account.live.com, sign in with that email. Near the top the screen, you should see "Windows Live ID", your email and the word change. If you click on change, you can do just that and turn it into a hotmail/live.com
email or into an existing email.

That would free up your email to join xbox live on the console with your current offline profile.

I have a problem like that but when I changed my email the first time 3 years ago I had access to my old email but after it sad i changed it to the new one it didnt. I closed my old email account and I got screwed by xbox live.now there are 3 years worth
of promotions in a email that doesnt exist for my profile. xbox screwed me.
