Changing the email associated to your xbox account when you already have a newer email...

Maybe I'm not being clear or I'm not understanding the instructions. I have an email address associated to my xbox account that was set up automatically when I set up the xbox. I cannot access this email address, it doesn't have a microsoft account allocated
to it as far as I can see. I want to remove that email address from xbox and assign my new fully functioning microsoft email account to to the xbox account. I do not care if the existing email address disappears as long as my existing profile moves to the
new address and I can for example, receive email notifications.

I am not changing anything on a microsoft account, I am trying to swap out an email address.

Thanks Leo, its an xbox one and I have accessed the other email account on another device but I am really not clear on which advice I'm supposed to follow and how for example I could remove an email account and not lose all the information relating to it.
I am clear that I can't merge 2 outlook accounts.

It might make more sense to remove the newer email address that is only set up to access emails but I don't know how to do that either. It would be much easier to do this on a call and be talked through it. Is that an option here? I have tried to get help
from the 24 hour support but its not a qualifying issue - can you arrange this?

Thanks for keeping us updated. Are you using an Xbox One or Xbox 360? If you are using an Xbox 360, are you trying to tie an Xbox 360 profile to a Microsoft account? If you're using an Xbox One account, the Xbox profile must be tied to a Microsoft
account. You must know the email address that is associated with the Xbox profile in order to change the primary email address of the account. You have to log in to the
Microsoft account website with that email address and password and follow the steps in the article we provided to change the primary email address. We hope this information helps Mark!

how to manage aliases for your account. If the email address you want is the primary alias of a different Microsoft account, you must first remove it from one account before you can move it to the other. Third-party email addresses like @gmail or @yahoo
can be removed from one Microsoft account and moved to another. However, Microsoft email addresses like @outlook and @live cannot be recovered after they are removed from a Microsoft account. We hope this information helps!
