    Changing the default currency of my account


    Hello,

    I recently bought a code to put some money onto my Xbox Live account in order to get some DLC for Alien Isolation, however, The type of money on the card (Euros) is not the same as the money on my console (Pounds) therefore it is not usable. Given that I
    got it from the supermarket and not an official microsoft store, I don't know how I can exchange the card so I though I would try and change the region of my account to Belgium, which is where I live.

    Even after changing my region, the type of currency remains unchanged and I can't use my gift card, does anyone know how I can change the currency of my console?

    How can I equip a gift card amount on the Xbox store ?

    Not illegal, just against terms of service potentially. Usually against terms to prevent abuse of currency exchange rates, but if you buy a different regions currency you have to be in that region.

    That's the situation you are in, or you'll lose the 10 bucks. The site changes stores because it see's what region your account is in, and switches you.

    The website is not set up to use currency on your account. When you purchase on the console it will default the payment to the currency and any extra that is needed will be taken from the credit card.

    Currency is limited to the country that it is used in. If your gamertag is set to England then you cannot use the currency card that you purchased in your country. You would actually need to change your region in order to make use of that currency.

    Do not add the currency and then change regions, he will lose all the money:

    As Auswulf has said, you should be able to add the currency and still access the Australian marketplace when connected to the internet over there or spend the money before he leaves.

    Goto your console and default should be ms account

    If You mean for memberships read the card..

    currency cards cant be used for memberships

    And no ms account cannot be used from the website
