changing the account from child to adult

Hello Microsoft-Team.

I bought Forza Horizon 4 the other day and i noticed that i cant use some things ingame because my pofile is set to child.

Is there a way to change the account from child to adult? Me and my Dad tried to change it but we couldnt find anything about that theme so I hope I'll get some help here.

Promoted Child to Adult, but XBox won't update account

because you cant

The only way to change your account from child to an adult is by being an adult by father time not changing your age or your email address

You will have to wait

With the xbox account age turns 18 it will have promote your account to adult

And no changing the age or the ms account will not work

 

Parent account

Changing the age under your profile data cannot change your xbox account from child to adult. If you have registered an account under 18+ of age in xbox live service that is a child account

After you turn 18 or if you're over 18 you can promote your child account to an adult account.

If you signed up for Xbox LIVE with a child account and have since turned 18, after the update you’ll see a new option at the very top of the Account Management section of the dashboard. The ‘Promote Child Account” will allow you to promote an Xbox
LIVE account that is a child account to an adult account.

This promotion removes the Family Settings and Xbox LIVE restrictions. To promote your account, you must agree again to the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use and marketing opt-ins.

Something that is available is to fill out the
Age verification form. If you're an adult you can submit proof of age by filling out the

Age verification Request.

After submitting this form, you’ll receive confirmation and follow-up emails. Instructions on how you can monitor the status of your request will be included. Please do not submit multiple requests. You can expect an email response
within 3 days.

Okay thanks for your reply.

Im 17 now and im gonna be 18 in about 6/ 6.5 month... is there a way to make my account to an adult or do i have to wait 6months ... because you said something about an age verification. If my dads accepts to make my account an adult one is then possible
to do so or is there no other way :/ Because im not sure if im even going to play any games in 6months and i want to play now with the full gaming experience...

So that means the birthdate on your account indicates that you're underage. You can correct your birthdate by providing proof that you're an adult.

That would be the main way around the account to become and adult. This does require either a debit/credit card OR a copy of official identification that shows your birthdate such as a driver's license, state issued ID, country issued
ID, or passport.

Follow the steps to provide a credit or debit card for validation or submit a form using the process described in
Age verification for parental consent.

But is it possible that my Dad“takes over“ my account so that him and I can play Forza on „my“ account because we dont want to buy it again or does it mix everything and just makes it more complicated

Thanks for reaching out to our team! It would be possible for your dad to take over the account and prove his age, however, it may take some time for it to adjust the information. It is recommended to wait until the account recognizes it is 18 instead of
trying to change all of the information.

create a Microsoft account, and manage a child account through the family settings. Once the adult account is created, the adult account must

add the child account to the family. The family settings can be managed through an article entitled

Troubleshoot Changing Online Safety or Privacy Settings on Xbox One. Some developers do not allow child accounts to play on their servers. However, the steps we provided allow the parent account to authorize any settings that may be restricting the child
account from playing the game. Be sure to let us know the results!

I already did this with my Dad ... i disabled all settings i could!

Im able to play online In Forza Horizon 4 but the thing that got me the most in onther videos is the customizing of your own car and i‘m not able to download any paintjobs oder joining any club with my friends etc. because of the xbox child privacy or however
you call it in english ^^

 

When you looked through the settings, did you have your Dad do it through the website with his account? Under the Xbox.com website, have him click on his name on the right, then go to Settings and there is a Privacy section. There are three tabs worth
of settings there. The only issue I have run into so far with the Child account is with Fortnite and crossplay. I have not had issues with other games but also have not tried Forza yet.

I don't quite know what you mean with the Privacy section but I tried to download Paintjobs, etc. again in Forza Horizon 4 and it give me an Error which says something about an XboxLive "youth protection" i hope its the right word ... in german its called
"Jugendschutz"

Maybe you know what i have a problem with ...

or others know what i mean by that Error
