    Changing region/location to get around blu-ray region locks


    Hi all.

    I’m in the UK and am looking to play Region A (US) discs on my Series X.

    I’ve changed the location on my XSX and while I can now access the US store online, I’m still getting the dreaded ‘region mismatch’ error with the physical disc.

    Is there any way to get around this apart from modding etc. that would risk voiding my warranty, which I don’t want to get into?

    What regions of blu ray and DVD does Series X support?

    Changing region won't work for dvd/blu-ray discs.

    It is region locked so will only play discs from the region you are in,for example if you are in Europe then your console will only play PAL region dvd's/blu-rays or region free discs.

    The region of the Blu-Ray player is locked and will remain the same. When you change your account region, it's for the store so you can make purchases from the country you are moving to.

    You will only be able to play Region B Blu-Rays and Region 2 DVD's. Many Blu-Rays are multi-region and they are easy to get hold of. Some of the ones you already have may be multi-region. Just look for this marking.

    US XBSX work in Australia?

    Disc based games are region free so any will work but dvd/blu ray is region locked so only dvd/blu ray from the U.S. region will work.

    No,afraid not.Xbox Ones are region locked when it comes to dvd's/blu-Ray discs.

    It would only work if the blu-ray was region free.

    No. Games are region free on the Xbox One but dvd/blu-ray is region locked.
