Changing Privacy Settings

Hello guys.

I would like to change the Online Privacy setting for my Xbox Live Account from my Xbox 360, and am encountering a problem. So when I completely change all of my settings and click the "OK" button, a box pops up with my parent's e-mail ID. Naturally, I asked
my father to put in the password. He did, and it denied the password. He then remembered that the e-mail associated was deactivated a year or two ago, when he sold
off his company. Please suggest how I am to deal with this problem. Can I change the e-mail address for that? Could it be removed (without the password)?

I have been trying to change my privacy settings for days now, I have followed steps I have found on and off Microsoft/Xbox website yet it lead me to circles. I don't now what I have been doing wrong. But pls someone tell me how do do it in case I've done
something wrong, thx

Hi. It seems that you are using a child profile. You will need to recover the password for the parent account first. Ask your dad to go to this site :
Recover your account. Once your dad have the access to his MSA again, he will then be able to change the privacy settings for your profile.

Thanks for the reply LeiAiAleiAica. The email ID used has been de activated. Hence, it would be useless to recover it....

The ASCS form will ask you to provide a working Email address. What your dad needs to recover is the password for the MSA and not for the Email. The ACSR link once verified will give you the reset instructions to the working email that you have access to.

That's the problem, I can't close it in that page, because of the Microsoft Points (that I have not).

Also, i'm in Portugal so I guess it's not a good idea to call those numbers

I'm sorry to hear you want to close your account.

If you want to close your account you can do so by logging into
http://account.live.com/ and then scrolling down to the bottom and clicking 'Close account'

However, I highly recommend you give Xbox Support a call on 1-800-469-9269 or 1-800-4MY-XBOX and they can escalate the issues you're having to get those issues solved for you.
