Actually, that can only be possible if you still have access to the primary email because it will need to be verified first before you can change the alias. So if you still have access to the primary email, you can always change that to a different alias but if not, you cannot change that anymore and rely on your security proofs for recovery access.

I am trying to change my primary alias email but I have to first verify that email address but the problem is I no longer ave access to that email anymore. what can I do? in order to add another alias i have to first verify the old email but I cant.

If I may ask, do you not have access to your Microsoft account anymore? Because if you still have access to it, you can always just make sure you have access to the security proofs because you cannot change the primary email anymore if you do not have access to that google email.

You would need to recovery access to this email for you to change it. But for as long as you have access to the security proofs attached on that Microsift account, there will be no issues using the old email as log in because the proofs will be your recovery options.

Just a heads up, if you do not have access to that email anymore as it is no longer active, you can no longer be able to change this email because you cannot pass verification anymore through that unless you have the option to recover that email.

Your account will be stuck with that email for you to use to log in to your Microsoft account but if ever you need to change your password or verify your Microsoft account, it will not matter as long as your security proofs are accessible like your phone number or an alternate email. That primary email on the account will just be a log in email but your proofs can be changed.

if your mothers email address is a Microsoft type email (i.e. @Hotmail.com, @live.com, @outlook.com @MSN.com) if you change the email and make your email the primary email and remove her email from the account those email accounts will be shut down and not
be able to be used anymore but if it is not a Microsoft type email then you change it and she would still be able to access her email through Gmail, yahoo or whatever other type of non Microsoft account email.
