    changing parental control/lost password


    Im interested in changing parental control. sadly ive lost the password and need to reset my sons x360.

    As far as i know i have to contact Xbox in order to get a master code. Anyone that can help me where to mail Xbox or get in touch with them.

    Parental Controls

    Had the same problem here's what I did:

    -reactivate the old email account that was used for the parental controls

    -change information on above email account including password so that you know it

    -log into microsoft and recover account (instructions on recovery will be sent to the email account you just reactivated)

    -after recovering microsoft parental account change password.

    -use this new password with the reactivated email account for the parental controls

    -after accepting the new terms you will b able to make changes to your live account including changing it to an adult account

    Changing or removing the parental controls requires reaching the age of majority as per your state or province, when using the date of birth _originally_ provided (you can't change the date once it's entered, as any change is ignored).

    As to recovering the password for the parental control account, use

    Hi, thank you for your quick reply,

    I have also found these pages which are going some way toward helping.

    I am still concerned that when the security settings are set to defaults it reverts back to the original password.

    It also seems to be possible to change the parental controls without password prompting, I believe this is because there is a password to enter the live account at initial sign in and thereafter most settings can be changed - which is understandable - however,
    I would like to be able to secure parental settings yet still provide access to the xbox so that games can be played or netflix can be viewed.

    The same default password is in effect for the Netflix app and even though I have changed the main xbox live password (the 4 digit number using the control pad) the Netflix 4 digit password has remained the same. This means that if an 18 certificate film
    is requested to be viewed when the prompt comes up the old known password can be used.

    Will Netflix update to the new password?

    I will tinker with the Xbox some mor eand get back to you!
