    Changing offline account to live account


    Our kids have offline accounts on our xbox 360. I created them xbox live accounts and figured we could link them to their current 360 profiles so they won't lose their achievements. I can't seem to figure out how to do this. Anyone?

    Accounts ?

    I just did this today with my offline partners profile which was on my own Gold account (360 ) Changing offline account to live account :)

    You need to use a 24hr, 2 day, 7day pass and create an xbox live account for each of them, then port them across

    How to Change your Xbox LIVE account information

    Overview

    It is possible to change information associated with your Xbox LIVE account like your name, address, phone number or email address.

    Note: You cannot change the country that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account. If you have moved to another country and you would like to access Xbox LIVE from there, you have to create a new Xbox LIVE account in your new location.

    How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on Xbox.com

    1) Go to My Account and Sign In with your Microsoft Account. (This is the email and password that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account).

    2) Make the changes you want to your billings account information and then click Save.

    How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on your console.

    1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

    2) Proceed to Settings, and then select Account.

    3) Select Your Information, and then go to Billing Information.

    4) Sign In with your Microsoft account password.

    5) Change your billing account information and then click Done.

    In case you want to change the billing name on your Xbox LIVE account, go to Xbox.com

    Unfortunately the page says the feature is not available for child accounts currently, so that might be the issue you're running into.

    I also like to add that it's only possible to convert an offline account to an online account when you have an email account without an Xbox Live Account already connected to it, since you mentioned Xbox Live Accounts were already created for the kids you
    won't be able to merge that with their offline accounts.

    Something strange happened on my Xbox

    I don't think that is possible (the hacking part) , could someone else used that console at your place and linked that offline account to a Windows live I'd (Microsoft Account) because doing that might/will change the account name, when the account name
    is a unique I'd on the Xbox Live network.

    For example an offline account with the name 'John' will need a different name when connecting it to Xbox Live and there are generating names like the one you mentioned for new Xbox Live accounts.

    Linking the offline account to Xbox Live is likely the cause of that name change etc.
