    NAT Type

My NAT type is not working, I just got a new modem from Comcast, and now the NAT type is unavailable. Any suggestions?

[/quote]Can you describe in more detail, how these three networking devices are connected to one and the other.

How does your Hitron Technologies CGN fits into this topology? Is it that you're using the TM502G stictly for VOIP service, and the CGN for Internet?

Suddenlink provided Hitron when we upgraded to a better network plan. Cisco is just there for backup, hasn't been any issues with the setup so never thought of removing it.

I'm not an expert with networking so I have no idea what you are talking about.

If we were to visualizie the way your networking devices are connected to the Internet, would it look something like this:

Why is that you have the Arris modem? Your Hitron Technologies CGN is actually a residential gateway, which include modem and router/NAT built-in to this device.

Is it that you're using the Arris for your phone service?

However, the problem is probably with your Internet Service Provider. Where CGN stands for Carrier-grade NAT, which basically means that your ISP is giving you, not a public IP, but a private address that has already been NAT'd within your ISPs realm.

Basically, what he is saying is that you are part of your ISPs internal network instead of having a public IP address facing the outside world you have a private IP address inside their network.
