Changing NAT type from Moderate to Open

I got my ISP to reset my modem settings and my NAT on XB1 is now at moderate [it was strict before] and my 360 is set at open.

What Country/State/Province do you live in: Manitoba, Canada

Modem brand & model number: Pace, 5168N-010

    Router brand & model number: D-Link, DIR-862L

How many Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles are connected to this router?:
    2

Wired or Wireless (for each console): Both Wired

Things you have tried: Reset my modem settings [360 is Open but Xbox One is Moderate by default]

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/No/Unknown: Presumably No

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?: "Your network is behind a cone NAT" [Possibly not an error]

Any Error Codes you encounter: Status Code - 0x40000000000

Who is your ISP? (Internet Service Provider): MTS

    :)

  2. NAT type keeps changing from open to moderate

my NAT type keeps changing from nat type to moderate however when I go to test NAT type it either says open, moderate or a message saying it's unavailable. I want it to stay on open and I've done port forwarding and I'm still having problems.

does ethernet xbox one download faster?

Sort of on topic: Will ethernet open up the NAT? Just changed routers and my NAT is now moderate vs. open before.

  4. Changing NAT type from Moderate to Open

"Your network is behind a cone NAT"....that is open nat , but your using a gateway plus a router ? is the gateway in bridge mode ?

I'm checking my modem but so far I don't see where it says it's configured in bridge mode

  6. I don't see how it could be open unless it is in bridge mode (bridge mode disables everything on the gateway and turns it into just a modem) otherwise you would have double nat and not much luck...but like I said "cone nat" is what you want anyway and it
sounds like you have it....are games or xbox live not working properly?

You have a double router situation and now are double NAT'ing, you have a hidden NAT from the XBox point of view. Put the D-Link into a DMZ on the PACE or set the PACE to a bridge mode.

Pace 5168N - sort of related to the 2Wire/Pace 5031NV

  9. In the settings for the Pace Gateway you will want to put the dlink into DMZ+ mode from the pace gateway. Should be Settings>Firewall>Apllications,Pinholes, and DMZ.

from there you should have an option where it has you select which device that you want to set a firewall rule for.

( NOTE: this will be by device name/ Hostname of the device.which sometimes might be something like 'UnknownCE774' or something similar... This is if the gateway cannot detect a hostname. So it replaces it with a hostname of unknown<device mac address>)

So choose whichever that device is for you and the you should have a 'bubble' that you can select which says 'Allow all applications (DMZ+).

    Then hit save.

This will essentially bypass all the traffic going to your dlink from hitting the Pace Gateways firewall.

From their on your dlink you would just set up whatever settings you need in the dlink such as port forwarding or UpNp
