Changing my privacy & online safety settings

Ever since I received my xbox one, I have been dealing with not being able to buy or download DLC unless it is free. I have tried to change my online privacy and online safety settings but every time I go there it seems to say the same thing "your
privacy settings are in effect but can't be changed until we connect to the service" I know that the issue is not that I am classified as a child because I have made other accounts and added them to my family to check if I can change my own settings through
the new accounts but however it did not let me since I was listed as an adult, therefore I can do it myself. Is there a solution to this yet?

You also could try changing your settings online here:
Xbox Settings just select the options that says Privacy & Online Safety.

you can edit privacy Settings on
account.xbox.com/Settings

 

This does not answer my question because I done that and it's giving me the option to fix my settings but it's already set up just the way I want it but my issue has yet to resolve.

 

Is there still a solution to this?

 

I'm having the exact same problem and no one I've asked seems to know even xbox support :/

 

They really need to come up with a solution soon because it's really bothering me now the fact that I can't buy any DLC

 

The solution should be indeed going to
http://account.xbox.com and fix your settings there once. After having them fixed there, your One should be connected to the service and you can change the settings then on the One again to your needs.

 

Online it says my setting allow me to buy anything but I still can't ?

 

make a change, set it to custom or teenager for a test, then switch to adult and it should apply to your xbox as well.

Yeah it's like the xbox doesn't know what the privacy settings are so it's just restricting it until it gets like confirmation from the account that the settings allow us to buy things etc. so there's a problem with the xbox connecting to the account

Would you please try to delete the account from the xbox and then have it redownloaded again?

 

I tried that already but it still doesn't work
