    Changing my Microsoft account


    I've been trying to change my Microsoft account from my parents email to my own email but when I go to account security and type everything in that needs to be typed In it just says Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now. I do have $0.09
    on the old account and my father bought something called Assure for $145 on that account recently. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Changing my Microsoft account

    Can you explain a bit more please? Which methods are you trying to change it, via account.live.com or the xbox 360?

    When going to account.live.com you will have the ability to rename the alias on your Microsoft Account, once security has been passed.

    Changing it on the 360 you must take careful note because a number of things prevent it.

    1. You must wait 30 days, you must have the gamer tag on your console for a minimum of 30 days. The eligible Microsoft Account you are switching it to must be registered for a minimum of 30 days.

    Here is the misunderstood part.

    During both requirements, redownloading the profile at any time within the 30 day requirement will reset the process. Without much information on the issue this is the best I can explain at the moment, although I think this may be the problem.

    Ok thank you Dan, this cleared things up a bit, I just made the account I want to switch to yesterday so I'm guessing that's the reason. I appreciate it
