    Changing my Gamertag, but Gamertag not allowed


    I recently thought of changing my gamertag. One that i have been using over on my other console. The name is TsusunoAkumu. Which translates to My Nightmare. I am not sure why ‘Akumu’ would be not allowed as seeing it is Japanese for ‘Nightmare’. I am not
    trying ro put some horrific gamertag or something that seems well, that would cause problems.

    I just want to know why that one word is in a banned. I mean it doesn’t mean anything bad. So it just confuses me. Greatly.

    could be the issue that in the process the word contains something that is against the codes. With the whole word I could not see that. But it could be a combination of letters that are the issue. To be honest there are none I could think of. I remember
    that it had this issue with my location in the profile back in the days. There I wasn´t able to enter my Citys name. It took a while and finally I was able to set it up correct. So Maybe you just have to wait a bit and try it again.

    You and me both. I keep wondering about it. Worst part, is I have seen a LOT worse Gamertags on Xbox. And I mean a lot worse.

    Now when I change my gamertag, I will not have the hashtag followed by numbers, right?

    It is weird, however, that I could put ‘Akuma’ and that is Japanese for ‘Devil/Demon’ whereas ‘Akumu’ only means ‘Nightmare’. 😐

    Yes. I am getting that error. It keeps popping up. But only the ‘Akumu’ part. Tsusuno is fine. Akumu is not. I really want to change my gamertag to that. But with it popping with an error. Just I don’t know.

    I know it is not taken. Just getting error.
