Changing microsoft account with a current office 365 subscription

These are the steps for transferring a Gamertag to a different Microsoft Account (MSA/email address):

As stated in the "Conditions to be met", you cannot have an active Office 360 subscription on the MSA when moving, so once the subscription expires you will be free to move the Gamertag to a different MSA, provided that both MSAs match all conditions set
out on that page.

My Office 365 subscription uses my same Microsoft account email that is associated with my sons Xbox gamer tag, call it MS1. When my Office 365 subscription renews, can I instead renew it on a different MS account (MS2) with the 365 subscription, and then add MS1 as a family member?

Basically trying to figure out how to make MS2 my primary MS account, for all subscriptions and services, so then I can basically give my son the original MS1 account.

Also I’d need to figure out how to change MS2 to be my default Windows sign in as well.

Hey McLean22, Looks like unfortunately you
cannot transfer the 365 account. The best thing to do is cancel the 365 subscription you have on the current account, create a new Microsoft account for yourself and re-subscribe from that account. You might, and I say only might, be able to get a refund
from your current account to put toward a new account. Here are some

Current Microsoft account:

•The current Microsoft account can have an Xbox Live or Xbox Music subscription associated with it, but no other subscription (such as Office 365). Sign in at commerce.microsoft.com to see if this is the case.

•The current Microsoft account has only one billing account associated with it. If you have ever made purchases in more than one country, have subscriptions such as Office 365 or have bought an app through the Windows Store, you may have more than one billing

•Funds remaining on the current Microsoft account will not move with your gamertag. You can spend the funds and take the related content with you or you can choose to abandon the funds if the balance is less than $50.00 (or the equivalent in local currency).

Target Microsoft account:

•The target account cannot have any of the following associated with it:

◦An Xbox Live profile

◦A gamertag

◦A billing account

◦An Office 365 subscription

◦OneDrive paid storage

◦Any past purchases from the Windows Store

◦Any other non-Xbox subscription
