    Changing Microsoft account link to XBOX live.


    Hi. I am trying to associate my Daugters XBOX Live account to another Microsoft account. The email address in the orginal microsoft account has been deleted by Yahoo so I had to create a new one, Linked that to a Microsoft account but when I try and change
    the association of her XBOX live account to the it I get a the error 8016FE6D.

    The link provided is the Microsoft Account / billing account. Changing the name there will affect he ability to make purchases on LIVE.

    Error 8016FE6D occurs when moving your gamertag to another Microsoft account

    You get the following error when you try to move your gamertag from one Microsoft account to another Microsoft account:

    This may mean that the original Microsoft account or your Xbox Live account is in one of the following states:

    • The Xbox Live account has a past-due balance.
    • The current Microsoft account associated with the Xbox Live account is deleted or expired.
    • The Xbox Live account has been flagged for unauthorised access.
    • The Xbox Live account has a local currency balance.
    • The Microsoft account you are trying to move your gamertag from is under 30 days old. (This helps prevent your gamertag from being stolen by an attacker.)
    Or, it may mean that the “target” Microsoft account is ineligible because:

    • That Microsoft account is associated with another Xbox Live account.
    • That Microsoft account is associated with a billing account.

    Solutions

    To resolve this problem, try the following solutions:

    Solution 1: If you’re trying to change the email address that you use to sign in to your Xbox console, you can do this by changing the primary alias on the account. Learn more about managing aliases, see
