Changing Microsoft account attached to Xbox account

While you can change your date of birth on your Microsoft account this will not change the date on the Xbox account attached to it. The birthdate on your Xbox account is permanent.

as the xbox account was initially attached to your mums account then she still owns the microsoft account as the xbox account IS the microsoft account, even if you change the alias it is still your mums account.

To be sure we understand, are you trying to change the email attached to your current Xbox and Microsoft account?

You should be able to add or
change an email alias as long as it is not attached to another Xbox/Microsoft account.

Keep in mind that Xbox accounts and Microsoft accounts are one and the same and you do not need an account for both.

Changing the Microsoft account just changes the email address attached to your account for sign-in. Everything else will remain on the account.
