Changing Microsoft account associated with gamertag

I have a gamer score and downloaded games all associated with my gamer tag. The Xbox live account was opened under my now ex-boyfriends email but all of the games and credit card info are mine, paid for by me. Is there anyway to change the email associated
with my gamer tag so he has no access to my account? And so i can update my credit card info without him having access to it anymore? I can't even renew my gold membership because everything is in his name and if i update it he will have access to my credit
card. I'm also assuming that if i just delete my account and make a new one all my downloaded content will be lost?? I paid for those games and don't want to lose them.

Technically transfers cannot be do but you can change the email address associated with a microsoft account.

In order to associate the gamertag with another account you will need to create a whole account with an email address and then do the following to associate the gamertag to that account. How

This does suggest Microsoft account is associated with the wrong email. What I would do is on the Xbox with the Gamertag you believe is the right one is check the E-mail address associated with it. A Gamertag is associated with a Microsoft Account but
the E-mail address that is associated with a Microsoft Account\E-mail address can change. Hope that helps and makes sense.
