    Thanks, AzokyHU, I think your support experience might've shown some light on the issue. I went to the commerce.microsoft.com and checked the account I wanted to move to. It also had a US business account listed along with my personal account. Apparently
    it's because of my Office 365 University subscription being on this account, so I don't know if my solution will be quite as easy as yours since I don't want mine to be deleted. I'd say if I just had a regular Office 365 subscription instead of the University
    then it wouldn't have listed as a business account in my billing info on my account.

    I ended up getting too busy to call support myself to have it escalated yet, but should get time within the week once finals are done with. Hopefully this new information on it you've provided could help them get it fixed for me.

    I have the same issue, I purchased the windows phone developer on the account I want to switch to and it made it a business account. They escalated it to tier 3 last week and no resolution yet. I just got done with chatting with them now and they are still
    working on it. This is preventing me from purchasing on the account I want to switch to. This is so frustrating!!

    I fixed mine. 6 months i had trouble until today. You have to switch your alias to a third party domain in the account information of your microsoft account. I used gmail. I tried using live but the account i was trying to switch to already had a billing
    account attached via my microsoft surface. So you can have two billing address obviously. I hope you understand what im trying to say here. Go to your account on a tablet, computer, phone and add a third party alias, then make it your primary alias BUT it
    can only be an alias that doesnt already have a microsoft billing account. THAT IS THE ANSWER I SWEAR TO GODS. support helped me with this and they told me this is it.

    That's not really switching to another account, from what you are doing. You still have to keep the old account active.

  5. Well I went ahead an tried chat support again on the 2nd to see if providing them with this new information would help them quickly solve the issue. The representative was nice, quickly confirmed that that would be the issue, and then sent me to a different
    chat support to have the Office subscription moved to another account. They then sent me to yet another chat support who then informed me that it couldn't be done and that even cancelling my subscription wouldn't remove the business account profile. So then
    I was once again sent back to Xbox chat support. This representative didn't pay attention to half of what I said, didn't understand some Microsoft account functions, and gave me incorrect information multiple times that I called them out on before they would
    then check with a supervisor and find out they were wrong and I knew what I was talking about. Horrible experience. Finally got sent on to a different support department chat once again, at this point it had been 3-4 hours since I started this new support
    mess. They were friendly and quickly got things sorted so that the issue would at last be escalated and then went ahead and did a follow up on it so it would get prioritized and I would be contacted in 24 hours. Quickest and least frustrating chat support
    I had dealt with this entire process..........and now it's been 4 days and I've heard nothing back. Not really sure what the hold up is since I basically already told them root of the issue and that to fix it they need to either remove or merge the billing
    profiles, which someone in support must know how to do since they did it for AzokyHU.

    Also, changing the primary alias, Microsoft or 3rd party, doesn't work. I've tried it before, both with my gamertag account and the account I want it moved to. It doesn't change the root of the issue, which we've now learned for at least some of us is multiple
    billing profiles. I tried it again just to be sure right then and still received the error code. I did get the idea to see if I could change billing information for the business profile to a different email to see if that made a difference. It didn't. So we're
    just stuck waiting for them to escalate it to the support that knows how to deal with it. Would be so much easier if we could delete a billing account profile ourselves if we have more than one.

    I'm having the same problem, I want to transfer this gamertag to another email. The only problem is while trying to transfer I accidentally created a gamertag on the email I wanted the gamertag to be transferred to. So I followed the directions on the transfer
    gamertag website. The email I now want to transfer my gamertag to is gamertag free, but when I try to transfer now I get Status code: 8016FE6D

    Called 1-800-4my-Xbox was told they couldn't escalate my call. So I either had to chose a different email. Or as I was told by the support person my floor support supervisor told me it's really complicated and we can't escalate your issue so just try another

    I think my last resort is to get the rest of my balance off my current account. The problem is I have only $0.05.

    Is there anything on the store that is 5 cents? Is there a way to pay with the Microsoft account then use the rest on a credit card? Or can I buy a gift card for $4.95? Anyone know?

    So the error code finally exists on the support site. But it's solutions are:

    Solution 1: If you’re trying to change the email address you use to sign in to your Xbox console, you can do this by changing the primary alias on the account. Learn more about managing aliases, see Change the email address you use to sign in to your Microsoft
    account.

    Solution 2: Learn if any of the account issues listed above are affecting your Xbox live account by signing in at My account to review your account balances as well as any recent purchases.

    Well, they aren't solutions....

  9. Which it sounds like Microsoft is telling us to forget it; that there is nothing they are willing to do. Which is freakin' ridiculous considering the fact I have my entire Windows 8 account (and purchases), Skype, Office 365, associated with my other email
    and I can't tie my Xbox live account with it?

    Interesting to see that I'm not the first or alone with this type problem. Saddened to see that months later it appears that Microsoft hasn't developed appropriate solutions.

    I'm dumbfounded that the ONLY way an XBL gamer tag can be moved to another Microsoft account if it works is by using a Xbox 360. That's a major kick in the pants to Xbox One owners. Microsoft's web site(s) can't even do it... the only thing you can do via
    the web site is change Aliases and then only if the account isn't restricted. Sadly, even though I still have my Xbox 360 it wasn't able to move my gamer tag to a new Microsoft account and instead responded with this message which redirected me to the support
    page I was already using regarding this topic:

    "Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now. For more info, go to Xbox.com/AccountSwap"

    Following multiple exchanges with Xbox Twitter & Telephone support, this is what my problem appears to be as best that I can deduce. I'm a legacy grandfathered Sympatico user who created his XBL gamer tag back in the original Xbox days using a secondary
    Sympatico account. It appears that Microsoft locked down the new Microsoft account converted from my Windows Live ID when they switched to using Hotmail/Outlook. This message is associated with my Primary Alias and is what I believe to be the issue stopping
    me from moving my XBL gamer tag to a different Microsoft account:

    "Your organization's policies prevent you from changing your primary alias."

    The Telephone Support rep told me last night that they don't have tools to make the change that is needed to free my XBL gamer tag from the Microsoft account that is holding it hostage because of some policy that seems to think Sympatico accounts belong
    to Bell & not the person who created the XBL gamer tag in the first place.

    At this time I'm waiting for the Outlook support team to respond to the case I submitted last night via the link I located by searching for other Sympatico users with the same issue. Resolving this issue shouldn't take this much work... I'm now 5+ hours
    into trying to free my XBL gamer tag from Bell's clutches so I can cancel their overpriced service (they jacked my rates to $140/month for basic telephone & DSL - outrageous!).

    There might be some possibility. I'm getting a different error when I go to the temporary email. In my attempts to solve the problem, I deleted and downloaded the profile again which reset the 30 day waiting period. I still attempted to do the switch:

    When going to my real email, I got the error code 8016FE6D.

    When going to the temporary email, I get the 'sorry we can change your account at this time' meaning the 30 day waiting period is active.

    So the fact I get two different error codes must show... Something.
