Changing main email for microsoft rewards

Every time i go to use my rewards points it tells me tat the updates will be sent to the xbox live family account the xbox gives you which isnt a real email. I have talked to microsoft support and they referred me here. How can i make my personal email the
email they send updates to?

To remove that gamertag that is connected to your 'main' email (Microsoft Account), just change the connected gamertag connected to a new Microsoft account.

So first free up your 'correct' email address by moving the connected gamertag to a new Microsoft Account

and after that you should be able to change the 'email' (Microsoft Account) for your main gamertag to your 'correct' email address (Microsoft Account)

Yea, they changed it from an email to your reward being automatically added to your account after the switch to Microsoft Rewards.
