Changing Main Adult Xbox account

Hi,

I did a really stupid thing !!!, I set up my son's new Xbox one S with my (Adult) Microsoft account. This I assume was the right way to do it but I setup my son under my account. This means that although it looks like he has his own gamer tag and profile
he is actually gaming under my account and therefore I can't set any restrictions like screen time etc.

Is there an easy way of migrating him on to his own (child) account without him loosing all his game achievements and settings OR will it be a case of setting up a whole new profile for him. This is where one of the problems lie, If I setup a new profile
for him he'll will have to re add all his online friends and so on.

I should have been more careful when setting up the account but there ya go !,

can someone help me whit changing my account to the main account. it stands that my account is a child account so i can't do anything, and i dont have any working adult accounts.

 

Promoted Child to Adult, but XBox won't update account

because you cant

The only way to change your account from child to an adult is by being an adult by father time not changing your age or your email address

You will have to wait

With the xbox account age turns 18 it will have promote your account to adult

And no changing the age or the ms account will not work

Unfortunately nothing can be transferred between accounts. You will want to create a new profile for him so you can set restrictions. When you do that any achievements he got on the old account will need to be earned on the new account, as well as adding
any online friends.

I did the same thing. If I do create a new child account for him , can the Live subscription transfer to his account?

 

No. Nothing is transferrable between accounts. That being said if you set your Xbox console as the "home console" then your son will be able to play online without having their own gold subscription as long as they are signed into the same console.
