changing language or region

We are an English family leaving in Italy. We would like to watch movies in english and also play games in english. As it stand I wll never dowload a movie until they allow such a change.

How do you change your Xbox live accounts region?

The instructions for changing it in billing are worthless because the only language supported for south korea is Korean... anyone know how to change your language or region?

 

Blackops 2 on demand is in french?

yes you cannot transfer same region to same region

btw with blackops games they are language specific this is specified in the descriptions there is no option for changing language

with most region specific dlc it is only offically supported languages of the region

I could be wrong, but as far as I know setting the language and region on the Xbox One console to the UK and English should result in the games being in English, the only problem is that you might not be able to buy digital items when the payment option
does not match the region.

 

well usually when you move to a different country you adapt to your enviroment

not the other way around that being said even if you migrate to the UK it wont help seeing as international laws do prevent you from seeing content you aren't supposed to

due to international laws movies tend to be controlled hence why there is region locks and yes most video services are region locked

and very few services will have multiple language options except for discs

 

Please ignore the ill thought out attitude above. I am an Irish man who works throughout France. I am fluent in French but prefer to watch films and play games in the language they were written and performed in originally rather than in the local language
just to "fit in". I agree it seems a waste to watch things that have been badly translated and dubbed just because we should adapt to our environment. I myself live in a global environment thankfully but avoid watching American and English programming in
French as it loses a lot of nuance and wordplay (I won't watch French programming in English either)

You can change the language of your console to English and that will give you a gaming experience in your native tongue but as a previous poster says unless xbox video offers English versions on their Italian sites you will be unable to download English
versions of films due to local ratings and laws. If they still haven't fixed the language selections on the xbox one you're even more unlucky there as you can't select a different language than spoken in your location in the settings. This is possibly due
to voice commands.

voice commands are location based just like your account language

why have English commands for a French Kinect game it doesn't make sense the French accent would throw things off

if you use voice command software like dragon dictate or a smartphone you would know accents and location does play into voice recognition

 

I'm talking about setting language to English in the OS not in game. In game voice commands can be programmed for numerous languages and selected by the language the game is running in so they are not an issue.

Obviously the commands set up in the One's OS can be recognised in any selectable language in the menus. Why not allow the console to be in Italy but the voice recognition in English? Accent and language has already been dealt with by the programmers for
the languages available on the console.

I do use voice recognition on my smartphone and strangely it still recognises me in my own language and my own accent whether I am in London, Paris or Oslo. I'd take a guess it would work on the space station as well. I just don't understand why a next
gen console can't let me speak in one of the languages it is programmed to recognised in any location.

 

xbox live commands recognizes commands based on your account region

however xbox console WHILE OFFLINE recognizes it based on your local

if you really want to have English you will have to use it offline

like I said if you adapt to your environment your going to have a lot of trouble going places

learning a new language is mandatory not to mention international laws which is written in the native language

so what will you do when you are trying to find directions? and cannot read the sign?

I had that trouble asking for the bathroom and didn't know the local word

being international community also means you adapt to other cultures

good luck telling your teacher you want to learn English in an Italian school

it doesn't work that way

 

the language of your region has always been set b the majority of your region not by you

think about it

why have English commands or menus when there is no English content while online

your content will be by your example French or whatever the publishers put the content in

you do not have access to English content while in a non English region

xbox live content is separated by regions just like every other console

 

Ohhhh ngocphi.... is this the part where you say on yet another thread about this subject that we are somehow a minority and this isn't a real problem?

Until you live in Europe where people move countries to places with anywhere from 1-5 languages spoken you really have no business on these threads.

 

Love the fact that Microsoft, a globally operating company, is putting such a useless limitation into its own OS and absolutely ignoring peoples complaints about it... no wonder why PS4 is winning the race...
