Changing gamertag

I have gone onto the forums and followed the instructions to change my gamertag and nothing is working. I keep on getting error code 800700E8. I have tried doing a chat with a service consultant but that just simply failed. I am extremely frustrated at the
complete lack of interest shown in attending to my problem. Please could someone assist me. I love xbox and it is without a doubt my preferred platform, but if this is the kind of service I can expect perhaps I must reconsider my choice. I can be contacted

No, Changing your gamertag is not required. Changing your gamertag is all up to you

Even if you change your Gamertag, you purchases and saves are still locked to your account. I could change my gamertag right now and I still have everything. It stays with the email address you signed up with, not gamertag.

 

That error code pertains to a connection error. It is very possibly related to the current service alert:

When that issue clears up, try again.

If still not working after, clear the console's cache three times and restart the console.

Also, in future it's best not to post your email address publicly on a forum.
