    Changing Gamertag - Not allowed!!!!


    So I last changed my gamertag back in 2010. Recently I've been trying to change my gamertag and the response I get is that the new gamertag is not allowed. So I contacted support to learn why it wasn't allowed. The response I got was that the name had been used previously and was permanently banned which is fair. But I looked up the gamertag and it didn't exist. So why can't I use a gamertag that doesn't exist and that doesn't violate the conditions? Or why can't a gamertag be reinstated after been permanently banned?

    Also WHY DOES THE BACK BUTTON ON MOBILE EXIT THE LIVE CHAT?

    could be the issue that in the process the word contains something that is against the codes. With the whole word I could not see that. But it could be a combination of letters that are the issue. To be honest there are none I could think of. I remember
    that it had this issue with my location in the profile back in the days. There I wasn´t able to enter my Citys name. It took a while and finally I was able to set it up correct. So Maybe you just have to wait a bit and try it again.

    You and me both. I keep wondering about it. Worst part, is I have seen a LOT worse Gamertags on Xbox. And I mean a lot worse.

    Now when I change my gamertag, I will not have the hashtag followed by numbers, right?

    It is weird, however, that I could put ‘Akuma’ and that is Japanese for ‘Devil/Demon’ whereas ‘Akumu’ only means ‘Nightmare’. 😐

    Yes. I am getting that error. It keeps popping up. But only the ‘Akumu’ part. Tsusuno is fine. Akumu is not. I really want to change my gamertag to that. But with it popping with an error. Just I don’t know.

    I know it is not taken. Just getting error.
