Changing Gamertag Issue

I was wondering if anyone had a clue why I can't change my GT to what I want it to be. And yes the
gamertag fits the 15 character limit and no one has it because I've searched for it with no results. It is not an inappropriate GT but I've tried it on several occasions and it won't let me change it. The GT I've been trying to change it to
is "The Last Sniper". Any help would be appreciated.

p.s. I recieve no error message when I try to change it on my xb1 it just puts me back to the GT suggestion screen.

Hi there, it sounds weird that the enforcement team would be the only ones to help with this issue and to be honest, I don't believe they are even a contactable team, certainly not through here. Official Xbox support patrols these forums.

Would you mind outlining your issue here? Do you want to change your tag to one that appears inactive? Let us know and hopefully someone can assist.

Changing Gamertag Issue

Hey there, DigitalAssassin,

I found it weird that I was told to contact the Enforcement Team as well. I found it even weirder that I was told that the only way to contact them was via the Xbox Forums, all of this was told to me by Phone support. As an Ambassador, I was confused as
I had never heard of that before, but I figured that I may as well try it.

It involves changing it to a gamertag that is inactive that is my gamertag previously. It has only been used on my account and is not in use anywhere else. I was told that the Enforcement Team has a way to do this, since it is my previous gamertag, not just
a random gamertag that I want to go to.

Of course, I know all of the normal troubleshooting and none has worked.

That doesn't make any sense because I have the same kind of spaces in my GT already...

I also have two friends who's gts are "The Last Chef" and "The Last Toast" with the same spacing so idk

Yes, but if you tried to have "thelastchef" or thelasttoast" you would have the same issue.

The system ignores the spaces and declares the tag as taken.

The spaces still take up character space though.

Hello there, a while back my account was hacked into and unfortunatly my gamertag was changed to this horrendous garbage. i was told by the xbox live support person to ask someone on the forums to see if i could get granted an account name change. please
someone either report my name or something

All a report will do is get an enforcement on your account and get you a random tag generated for you, you will not get a tag of your choice.

Did you open an unauthorised access case when your account was hacked?

If you did, support would have a record of it and could offer you a free change.

You get to change your gt once for free and after thater you have to pay for it to be change and the space between the name counts and if you are using "The Last Sniper". like that it is to long

Hey there, F1R3ASSAS1N411! You are able to change your gamertag for free within the first 30 days. After that 30 days, you will need to pay to change it if you are not happy with it anymore. Previously, we offered free gamertag changes when you received
a forced name change as well, but that has since been discontinued. This definitely seems like something that would do terrific over on our

Except on psn you can't change your name

fyi you should feel privileged to even have the ability to have a name change Lord

10bucks is nothing maybe a change of priorities is in order ?

It's 10-25bucks on most gaming services

not to mention you don't get the weekly maintaince that occurs on psn

A forced name change won't solve your issue

Fyi read the terms of use

Forced name changes only occur when the name violated the terms of use

Also you get a random name issued during one after which you need to pay 10bucks to change it

maybe you should think about your priorities

Hey, Paiste! That shouldn't affect it at all. I've ran into another user that is having the same issue in game with Gears 2 and 3 with their friends.

Is it that the party option in these games is now grayed out for you? That is what another user is running into, and if you guys are both doing it, I'd like to work with you to see if we can fix it.

Hey, Paiste! You will not be able to play in parties in game with users on Xbox One consoles while you are playing 360 games. You will need to create an Xbox One party on the console to be in a party with those users. You should be able to create parties
in game for 360 games with other 360 users by pressing the Menu and View buttons on your controller while in the 360 game to bring up the 360 Guide. Party options should be on the first slide there.
