Changing game language from Spanish to English outside of the USA

I purchased my Xbox 360 while I was still living in Miami, FL, but I've moved to Mexico about two years ago. Though somehow fluent in Spanish, me and my kids prefer playing games in English. I bought
Call of Duty: Ghosts a month ago and we sadly discovered the ENTIRE game (dialogue, menus and all) is in Spanish. We've become used to all the lingo from previous COD games, but now there's no way to go back to English (at some point one of my boys
reported someone for abuse instead of muting him, entirely by accident).

My systems settings are all in English, but some local kid explained that since I go through the Mexican Xbox Live servers, every new game I install will default to Spanish and there's no way of changing this. Is that true? Games in here are even more expensive
than in the US, and I HATE spending money on something that should be able to handle both languages at the owner's preference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. We can't even understand half the field orders when barked by the Spanish voiceover talent…

Games with gold for Portugal in spanish. Why?

The game doesn't have settings for changing the audio and subtitles language that's why i'm stuck with spanish.

Thanks for the reply but I think that changing the region could bring me some issues with the gold subscription.

Xbox Team, Portugal and Spain have two different languages.

Please do not give us "games with gold" in spanish!

I have a friend who purchased the game in Brazil, by default the language was Spanish when they played(their xbox language was set to English), in order for them to change it to Portuguese (the other language on the disk), they have to change the Language
for their Xbox to Portuguese.



Now in your case, if your default language is English on your xbox and you're still getting the game in Spanish, then maybe Spanish is the only language that's on the game disk. There's no option in the game for changing the language.

 

Yep it goes by the supported language of the region of the account

The only way to get English in a non English region would be to buy a out of region disk

However even if you change to the US games like ghosts is region locked digitally some games like dishonored will not work out of region

This is due to content and distribution rights

The reason for localization is easy games are published for the nationally supported language so there is no issues with wrong purchases and content laws are different for every region

 

Most games won't support multiple languages in game you will run into this problem everywhere as most games are only published in the language of the region

What is available in the US won't be available in the Russia or japan

 

Well, this truly blows, then. I guess I won't be buying any more games in Mexico, and will have to wait until I visit the States in order to buy physical copies of the major franchises (COD, FIFA, Halo, et al). Thanks for the clarification, ngocphi!
