Changing from original Xbox One to Xbox One S

My wife has gotten me a new Xbox One S for Christmas and will be replacing the two year old Xbox One. I have Kinect as well as a 3TB external drive on the original. I have seen where I can order a Kinect adapter for free and will do so. My question surrounds
what mostly exists today on my current XBox One and on the external drive.

Do I simply unbox the new One S, remove the original, and hook up the One S in its place? Do I just connect the external drive and expect it to be recognized with all game titles? There's quite a number of them saved to that external, disk format and downloads.
I imagine much will become known when my account goes live on the new One S.

I still have concerns about the amount of data on the external drive. Will it simply be recognized and I do nothing more?

The short answer to your question "Can I re-install those on my new Xbox One S", is yes. Your games and apps are tied to your Xbox Live account and you should not have any problems using them on your new Xbox One S. For move information see, "Moving

You should just be able to plug your external drive into the new console and carry on playing the games installed on without any issues.
