Changing from Organiser (Adult) to Member (Child)

My son is currently using an organiser (my) account linked to my email address, payment details etc. I want to move him to a member account without losing any of his progress. He has a dormant account I set up for him which is linked to his email address and Microsoft account. Can I do this? At the moment he can buy items without permission and I can’t set limits on his screen time etc. I’d really love to change it ASAP.

    :)

I'm now attempting from my laptop on Edge - it no longer gives the option to 'Change to Member' - only to 'Remove from Family Group' - should I do that and then reinvite as a member? If I do that will he lose anything. I'm so confused

Hi LisaJKing, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

There is no option to transfer games as well as game progress from one Microsoft account to another, in this case, the best option that you can perform is to use a different account of yours as an organizer and add the current account that he is using as a member in that way even if he is using your Microsoft account you will be able to manage it using the other account that you will set up as an organizer.

It won’t let me change to member. Is it because the Xbox subscription is paid for and logged via that account?

Initially it asks ‘change role’ I agree and it removes his entry from the family list. Then about 5 seconds later the entry goes back on with the message as below

It says “try again soon. We weren’t able to edit your family group”

    HELP….

Kindly use a different browser, if possible use Microsoft Edge.

You're very welcome and I can definitely walk you through it. Kindly use your new Microsoft account that we will use in managing his settings then sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/family, then add his account as a member.
