Changing email linked to Xbox Live account problems

What's up, I have been trying to change the email address associated with my Xbox Live account, however, when I enter the new email an error message says, "This account is already in use." The email that I am trying to change it to is MY account. It is
an existing account that I have had for a couple of months and has now become my main email, which is why I am trying to change emails. There are NO Xbox Live profiles linked to the new email that I am trying to change it to. Nothing is linked to it. It's
just a standard outlook email address, but the website will not allow me to switch to that address. I am the most confused I have ever been in my life and I would appreciate some help, thank you.

Im having problems changing my email address associated with my xbox live profile.

i spoke to someone last week about deleting and changing aliases on the microsoft account linked to my xbox live account.

I am sure whatever they give will be linked to the Xbox account message system.

I had that problem with using an old email. I switched the email through windows live. It took like 30 days to do that though. At least I get the emails now.

It sounds like your Microsoft account is already tied to another Gamertag. To free up the Microsoft account you want to use, you'll need to first create a third MSA that is not associated with a Gamertag. You can do this over on
outlook.com (be sure not to sign into Xbox.com with this account!). Once the MSA is created, you'll need to wait 30 days, after which you should be able to change the Gamertag that you don't use to this newly
created MSA. Once you free up the MSA, you should be able to change the email associated with your main Gamertag.

so I have been unable to get any help atoll I try to use Microsoft support they send me to xbox support I try to use xbox support and they have a name block that says it is required to fill out but its greyed out and impossible to click on even if I use
tab repeatably to try to get to the box it just skips over it and sence the name block is required I cant continue without filling it out even though its impossible to do so, and the forums don't seem to have a section for help with your account so I'm sorry

I had an account name Frethelt and it was linked to my AOL account but I lost access to my aol account so I called support a few years ago and they said they switched it over to my new email account, but when I tried to log in to my account It wasent my
Frethelt account they had made me a new account named FatterToe and it had none of my games or achievments ive called and messaged repeatably to try to get it resolved and eventually they did swap my log in email for my frethelt account to my new email.. but
now I cant use it atoll.. because I cant log into it with my old email it says account dosent exist but with my new email it just logs into FatterToe, I just want to finally be able to get back into my account can someone please help me

if I made a new email and swaped fattertoe to it do you think that would allow me to use my Frethelt account again?
