changing email and name

i created an account using my email for my son a while ago. Now I need to start using parental controls and my son's account is under my email. I cant just go under my account and change it to a newly created email because it is still associated with my
name.

I need to separate my name and email with my son's gamertag without him losing his data.

Unfortunately there is no way to separate the two like this.

You can't change the Primary email address on an Xbox/Microsoft account...you can just add secondary emails. AT least that's how I understand it. However, you can use a secondary email to sign in which, presumably, would then show that email in any correspondence etc. This page may help:

As to the name: If you log into your Microsoft account via a browser. At the "Home" page, click on your name as it appears in the top left...that should bring up a "Your Info" page...in the first box, you will see "Full name.....xxx"...click on that area (when the mouse hovers over it it will change to a darker grey) and it should bring up a box allowing you to change your name

Well I do have a differant name on my email and the paypal, is there anyway to change the emails name or the xbox lives name

I think it links to your email account, change your name (Not email address) for you email address.

If this is not your gamertag, which is "BenPlays", then you should be able to change it in your email settings. Log into your email and look for preferences or options and look for your name or the signature settings to change it.

If the name you're talking about IS "BenPlays" then you will have to purchase a gamertag change.
