Changing consoles name that is displayed on WiFi users.

Hello, does this have to be done from the xbox app, as I haven't got this, is it the same from going on the account through your Microsoft email, as I can't figure it out

I know which name you are asking about. It use to be you would go to
www.account.microsoft.com > Edit Profile, and you can change the name. It would also change the name that the console would use to greet you.

I was unable to find where to do it online (believe me I looked). Here are the steps I took to change the name (which will then change it across other MS products.

From the Xbox App.


Click on your gamerpic/profile.

Select Customize.

From there Select
Share Real Name. There it will say that you're sharing your real name.

Select Update Settings. That page will say "Here's how you'll look".

Click Edit
on the right.

Now you can change the first and last name. Then click Confirm.

On the Here's how you'll look page, click Next.

Make sure the Choose who sees your name is correct and click Next.

On the Here's what you chose page - if all looks correct, click
Done.

Finally, on the profile page click
Save.

It may take a little bit before the update makes it across all MS products.

it shouldn't show the gamertag when you will write an email on your provider...

it is an outlook account??

No this doesn't change the display name just your name, it's driving me mad, why can't you just change it simply cheers anyway

If you have a 360 you can change email through that but iv tried but its not letting me change it, it might work for you though
