    To start off, I must inform you that yes, I certainly have researched the changing linked accounts issue and I have read the appropriate stickies here. I'm quite sure I do understand how to use the 'three accounts' technique but there remains a problem I
    hope someone can help me solve.



    My situation is that I have one Gold gamertag subscription and I would very much like to change the Live account that's associated with it. However, the live account I would like to change it to is apparently still linked to another, old gamertag, which
    I cancelled my gold subscription for years ago (so it's now apparently a Silver account).. The problem comes to when I attempt to access that 'Account' menu in the xbox dashboard (this is xbox360, not sure if it's the same on xbox one). well, I can't access
    it, so I'm stuck because I can't see a way to change what live account that old gamertag is linked to.



    I truly appreciate any help anyone can provide. I appologise for posting another thread of this kind in what is probably a long and historic line of threads dating back to the 12th century.

    Gold or silver account? because it resets to trial if your gold expires.

    Changing Gamer Tag to another microsoft account.

    I have a Gamer Tag (A) that is associated with a Microsoft Live account (1) from about six years ago when I purchased my xbox

    I recently purchased Windows 8 for my PC, a Windows phone and a Microsoft Surface RT and all are registered with Microsoft Live account (2)

    I've followed the procedure on these forums for changing the Gamer Tag (A) to Microsoft Live account (2) on my xbox but I'm met with the prompt;

    "Sorry, this Microsoft Account (2) is already associated with an xbox live profile. Try a different Microsoft account."

    There is, apparently, a Gamer Tag (B) associated with Microsoft Live account (2) that I did initiate which has a silver membership. I've always purchased a gold since I've had my xbox.



    How can I get Gamer Tag (A) associated with Microsoft live account (2) so that all my devices are on the same Microsoft live account?
