Changing adults account holder gamertag to be childs

Trying to set up son playing with friends on xbox one live. Gone into my adult account (on pc) to change all privacy settings to allow and block where appropriate etc but then when we search for friends it shows my gamer tag not his as I am signed
into my account. The childs account wont let you change privacy settings. Basically he wants his own gamertag to show and not mine ! Maybe it will on the xbox when he goes back on it. Also how do you stop signing the password in every time you go on.

How do we change an adult account to a child account. We tried changing the birthdate, but it still says it is an adult account.

A child account will not be promoted to an adult account until the 18th birthday of the account holder. The is no way to change the birthdate on an XBL account.

Hey there. The child account should automatically change to an adult account once the account holder reaches the age they are considered an adult in their region (18 in most cases). If it doesn't change, the birth date on the account is likely incorrect.

Family packs were designed for a family, such as a parent and 3 children. The primary is the "adult" account and the other 3 are considered "child" accounts. The child or secondary accounts are treated as "child" accounts no matter what the age is of the
account holder. If you have a family pack made up with adults on the plan then 3 of them will be treated as "child" accounts.
