Changing adult account status to child

Hi, is there a way to change the status of an account from adult to child without losing the progress and history of the games in the profile? My 11 year old son made some unauthorized purchases from a credit card that he stole from me and his grand-mother
and it has to stop. Creating a child would be the best solution, but he would lose about 2 years of progress in the games he plays. My son suffers from Tourette's Syndrome, ADHD, OCD to name a few and gaming is everything to him, but we need to regain control
of the machine and his life.

You changing their Privacy Settings from Child to Adult doesn't change the account status to adult itself. So pretty much their accounts are still child. It will be possible to change it to adult as soon as they reach 18. If that is the age of an adult in
your country ofc. You cannot change that setting manually. The restriction on downloadable content stays locked until they reach the required age depending on the content age restriction.

You cannot change an account from an adult to a child account however you can assign a Passkey to the account. This can prevent him from making unauthorized purchases when you're not around

Otherwise to have a child account you'd need to make him a new account.

 

After further researching the subject, I gathered that it would be the best and easiest solution.

Another suggestion actually would be the use of prepaid codes. For subscription, you can grab prepaid cards for subscriptions and gift cards for credits incase you want to let him buy something he wants. By doing this, you can monitor how much he can spend.
