Changing Account Problems

Hey, I'm wanting to change my account to a new email. I followed the guide, in which you change alias, but had problems. When I tried to add an existing email address as a Microsoft account alias it would tell me that:

"This email address is already taken. Please try another."

I was unsure if the options on the Xbox dashboard under "Account Management > Your Information > Account Security > Change Microsoft Account" would have the same effect.
Another question I had is that under the option mentioned above it states that "Money in your account won't go with you to your new account." and was unsure if other aspects of my account would be effected. For example will games bought by the old account
still be downloadable and accessable on the new account or will these be lost to the new account. And will social aspects be effected, such as my friends list, gamerscore etc.

Im having problems changing my email address associated with my xbox live profile.

i spoke to someone last week about deleting and changing aliases on the microsoft account linked to my xbox live account.

Account Change Question...

I sold my brother my Gears Xbox One S along with my external HDD which had all my games on it. He'll have to use my account to play, right? I'm wondering if he could change my account's gamertag and email and make it his own and when I get another Xbox, can I reclaim my Mosh1mo name if he changed the gamertag from that name? Sorry for the confusing questions. Just wondering what my options are. I'll probably have to start all over, huh?

Hi there,

gamerscore, purchases, subscriptions, friends etc will move to the new Micrsooft Account. The part that can not be transferred are the funds/balance on the account those will be removed.

Are you trying to swap your gamertag to a new or different Microsoft account, as explained on

THIS page? If so, and you are given the following message "Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now." then you will be getting that for one of three reasons:

Your profile is less then 30 days old.

Your profile has already been moved to another Microsoft account in the past 30 days.

You have downloaded your profile from Xbox LIVE to your console / device in the past 30 days.

If the above is what you are experiencing, then you will have to wait for the full 30 day period to pass by before you can make the transfer. You should be good to go after that.

However, if you are receiving "The Microsoft account (or Windows Live ID) you’re switching to is already linked to another Xbox account."
when you try to make move your gamertag, then you will have to clear the gamertag from the desired Microsoft account before you can successfully make the transfer. The link provided at the top of the page gives you a step by step on how to do that.

If this is not the problem you are having, please post back with more detail.

Problem solved , by ask a code .. they send it by sms ... you can delete this thread

Go to the e-mail account in question and below the login there should be a link to click that says 'forgot password?'...Just about every e-mail provider has one of these for just an occassion.
