changed password; can log in here but not on the xbox 360

So, I did not play with the console for quite a while; tried to log in and forgot the password.

Went on the MS site; reset the password and even activated the 2 step verify system, just in case.

I go back to the console, put the password that I just changed, and I get an error code 8015D002

Now, what makes no sense is that I am actually able to log in via web browser here....I am logged in using the same password that I am trying on my console.

Also if I try to access my Microsoft account, I can do that, no problem, using the same password.

And no, the password is not longer than 12 characters; it is under 12 and above 8.

Tried support: the chat won't work with either firefox or Safari (sorry; Ain't gonna go out and buy windows just to chat with you guys); same goes for the support page, which won't show any page if I click on the various topics. I am surprised that the forum
is even working at this point. QA department at Microsoft must be incredibly busy testing only on IE probably; there is no time to care about whoever uses a different browser I guess.

Anyway; I did my good amount of efforts to try to resolve this issue; and I assume that after 5 years owning an account and the same console, I know how to log in

Does anyone know if this is a known issue? I've not logged in for ages; did the update so I have the latest software. Thanks!

Won't recognized my email/password on xbox one code:8015D002

I can log in to my Gold account on my computer, but not my xbox 360. I even successfully changed my password, but it still doesn't let me log in to my Gold account.

 

Error logging in with email and password

Everything was working fine on Sunday but today that's changed. Tried to log on and it's asking me for email and password which I did but it says its wrong when I haven't changed anything. I can log onto Xbox.com with same email and password just not on
Xbox, help!!!!

 

Problem solved:

1) turn off 2 step verification

2) change password

3) enjoy your console and blame whoever is not able to make this simple password procedure to work.

Glad that I am done with Xbox; Sony got my money for the next gen.

 

I started searching to see what might be wrong with your account and I got this page: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/errors/error-code-8015d002. When
error 8015D002 occurs that means that your account 'doesn't exist' or that's what that page told me. It is probably an issue with your account security questions and they are needing to be updated.

The two step verification is something that could have caused it as well, so try and follow the steps that are in that URL and good luck! Next time you have any issues with error codes try going to: Xbox Error Status Codes | Xbox Support.
Type in the code that you were given by your Xbox and it should redirect you to a page such as the one I have posted above with directions for DYI.

Wow , what a read. For some reason I was having a hard time understanding the problem. I can tell you that the error code does NOT mean your account doesn't exist. It means it is locked. An account is locked when security info needs to be updated. See ,
on the console , you will get error code 8015D002 meaning it's locked. On PC , (Mac , whatever lol) you CAN log in , however , when trying to access sensitive info (Credit Cards , email , purchases, etc) you will be prompted with a screen that says something
along the lines of "Call us overprotective , but - " and you will be prompted with several options to verify it is indeed you. Try verifying it , then returning to your Xbox. If it doesn't work - don't worry - i'm a click away! Just reply on this thread again
and it will notify me. Actually , reply if it works as well. Just , reply regardless.

P.S. - The site works on Chrome, Opera, and IE
