Changed my gamer tag, didn't know it'd be changed to have extra numbers, now making me pay

If a Gamertag is already taken, a suffix with numbers is attached to differentiate you from other people with the same Gamertag. Suffixes are part of the new Gamertag system that Xbox implemented in 2019 to expand the range of possible Gamertags to choose from.

Please know that after changing your Gamertag once, all future Gamertag changes will have a cost. That's why you are seeing a $10 fee for your next Gamertag change.

Why did my gamer-tag change? It really didn't offend nobody ( BIgBOyLuvMiLPhz )it was a funny gamer-tag to make people laugh and this was my first time actually getting reported. My friends gamer-tag were funny but when they got reported they had to change
there gamer-tag to something else or they couldn't play live at all and you gave them a (FREE GAMER-TAG CHANGE), how come I cant get that opportunity to change my gamer-tag?

You didn't have to pay for a forced name change.Your tag was changed from the offending one to the one you have now for free.You don't get to pick the gamertag when you are issued a forced name change.

If you want to change it again then you will have to pay.

If your gamer tag was special why did you change it to begin with? You aren't the first person who's upset by this change. I have never changed my gamer tag but was planning to and what I was going to change it to was 14 characters, I didn't know at the
time that the limit had been changed which is a shame
