    Changed Gamertag on Xbox 360, 2 gamertags on Xbox One??


    I recently changed my Gamertag on the 360, however when I sign into the Xbox One it shows both gamertags, only shows my old gamertag when signing in. Its kinda frustrating I paid for a gamertag change however its still using my old gamertag..

    I spoke to Xbox support and there wasn’t anything they could do. As one Employees said it already shows that it had changed and the other Employee I spoke to claims that it’s because it’s 14 characters it needs to be 12 in order to be a main gamertag,
    even though I changed my main gamertag on the Xbox 360. Therefore giving me 2 gamertags, a Display Gamertag and an In-game Gamertag. When changing it on the Xbox 360 should’ve updated my Display name as the 14 Character Gamertag and not keeping my 11 Character
    Gamertag.

    I don't believe that Xbox has any updates releasing regarding gamertag changes. As for the Steve tag. If they are showing 2 tags then it may be an issue between the older 360 gamertag and the Xbox One/Series gamertag. There are some things the 360 can't handle such as length of tag or password and so it shows as a separate one.

    You can sign in with the same gamertag on the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One at the same time

    What you can not do is:

    Sign in with the same gamertag on the same console type e.g 2 Xbox 360s or 2 Xbox Ones
