Changed Gamertag by misstake

It's not taken. Phone support has no control over names and says the server handles it all. A few of my friends have changed thier names in the past year and they are up for grabs again. Phone support said it could take up to 7 years for it come back into
the name pool. Just pick a new name or add some numbers. I picked that name so i wouldn't have to use numbers lol

The gamertag I want is stuck in holding.

That's unfortunate. You may need to try phone support to see if there's anything they can do to help but if it's in a limbo state that could mean that someone else may have taken it already.

Sorry to hear it. The only way to change a gamertag is to pay the amount required to do so.

I received a forced Gamertag change. Can XBLPET let me choose a new Gamertag for free?
