Changed Gamertag but password not working on Xbox 360

Hi, I have changed my password via xbox.com without issues. Sounds very odd though, first try this, delete your xbox 360 profile from your 360 or any other device with your gamertag on it then log into xbox.com, change password again then re-download your
gamertag to your desired devices.

Try and log into your 360 using your new password, if not try and change your password using your 360, then again to and recover your gamertag to all your devices.

I recently changed my gamertag on xbox one and made a longer password now when I go to play a 360 backwards compatible game on xbox one it says I have to re download profile so my gamertag will change but my password for live is too long on 360

360s do not like passwords longer then 16 characters. If your password is longer then 16 characters change it to something less.

When you change your gamertag you have to go in and redownload your profile.

Yes you can.

Just use the same email and password as you do for the 360 and your gamertag will work fine,

If you keep your 360 your gamertag can even be signed in on both the 360 and xbox one at the same time. Also your gold membership will work on the xb1 as well

Couple possibilities here.

1. If your password is longer then 16 characters then it will not allow you to sign in the 360 does not like passwords longer then 16 characters.

2. If you changed your gamertag recently you would need to redownload your profile. Here is a link on how to do that.
